EYCE, a four-member musical talent based out of Denton, Texas originally named “FIRST OFFENSE “ was started at UNT! After Renaming the group EYCE in 1987, founding members James “BackBeat” Murphy, Clifton “Alonzo” Bell, Mel “Bosco” Woodson were joined by Cedric “ The Wizard” Rutledge and they quickly became a strong, musical force and powerhouse R and B Funk Band!

Keeping current with today’s recording artist, their Classic RnB repertoire includes tunes by Bruno Mars, BlackStreet, Kool and The Gang, Bobby Brown, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, CeeLo Green, Hall and Oats, Erykah Badu, Dallas’ own Lakeside, Cameo, Mint Condition, Mary J Blige, Chaka Khan, PRINCE, The Time, BJ The Chicago Kid, Denise Williams. Also to name a legend in the industry, EYCE does a tribute in their show to Sly and The Family Stone! The Band has a unique modern sound in their original compositions, which include “SLYCE Of EYCE”, “Givin’ My Heart To You”, Like To Sho’ U I’m Right”, “ “Sending My Love”, “You Haul It”, “Brotherhood”, “Too Cold”, “Wrong Number, “All The Time, All My Life”, “Inside You” and “Plastic Girls”! All of these slammin’, jammin’, major league hitters have received AirPlay on Dallas’ own K104 FM.
